Mite 1

Nick Bello

HEAD COACH
 

Nick returns for his third year of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season overseeing our top Mite team.  Coach Nick played four seasons of hockey at Everett High School and has continued to play and coach since. 

Last season, he was Head Coach the North Shore Stars Mite AA team and led them to a 2nd place finish in the Mite North AAA Blue Division of Valley Hockey League.  The team started off at the AA level before a 10-0-1 start moved them up to the AAA level.  They also captured the championship in the 2020 Cape Cod Frozen Tundra Tournament, going undefeated while beating out several higher ranked teams in the process.   

Nick currently resides in Lynnfield with his wife and two children, including current Stars player, Nico.

 

Jeff Natalucci

ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH
 

Jeff returns for his third year of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season as Associate Head Coach of our top Mite team.  Coach Jeff was a Captain and star hockey player at Saugus High School, before playing for Nichols College and the Boston Junior Blackhawks. 

Last season, he was Head Coach of the North Shore Stars Mite A team and led them to a 3rd place finish in the North AA Red Division of the Valley Hockey League.  The team started the season at the A level before a 10-0-1 start moved them up to the AA level.  Overall, the team started the season 16-2-1. 

Jeff currently resides in Saugus with his wife and three children, including current Stars player, Gio.  Since 2010, he has been the Head Coach for the Saugus High School Varsity Boys Hockey.

 

Mite 1

Eric Pederson

ASSISTANT COACH
 

Eric returns for his second year of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season as Assistant Coach for our top Mite team.  Coach Eric was a standout hockey player and Captain at Saugus High School, leading the team to its first Division 2 State Championship.  After SHS, he played a post-grad year at Avon Old Farms before attending Merrimack College where he was a Defenseman for four seasons. 

Last season, he was an Assistant Coach with our Mite 2 team, which finished in 2nd place finish of the Mite North AAA Blue Division of Valley Hockey League.  The team started off at the AA level before a 10-0-1 start moved them up to the AAA level.  They also captured the championship in the 2020 Cape Cod Frozen Tundra Tournament, going undefeated while beating out several higher ranked teams in the process.   

Eric currently resides in Saugus with his wife and three children, including current Stars player, Max.  Eric is Vice President of Pederson Electrical Services out of Saugus. 

 

Mite 2

Derek McShane

HEAD COACH
 

Derek returns for his second year of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season overseeing our Mite 2 team.  Last season, Coach Derek led our Mini-Mite/U6 team in the Stoneham I-Mite League.  The team was made up of mostly first-year players, and only lost once in 20 games, with the players improving and developing each week.

Derek currently resides in Lynnfield with his wife and three children, including current Stars players, Jackson and Peyton, and is currently an officer with the Stoneham Police Department.

 

Mite 2

George Brooks

ASSISTANT COACH
 

George returns for his second year of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season with our Mite 2 team.  Last season, Coach George assisted with our Mini-Mite/U6 team in the Stoneham I-Mite League.  The team was made up of mostly first-year players, and only lost once in 20 games, with the players improving and developing each week.

George currently resides in Lynnfield with his wife and two children, including current Stars player, Declan.

 

Mite 3

Stephen McNaught

HEAD COACH
 

Steve returns for his second year of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season with our Mite 3 team.  Coach Steve grew up in Stoneham playing with Stoneham Youth Hockey and continues to play today with Hockey New England. 

Last season, Coach Steve assisted with our Mini-Mite/U6 team in the Stoneham I-Mite League.  The team was made up of mostly first-year players, and only lost once in 20 games, with the players improving and developing each week.

Steve currently resides in Lynnfield with his wife and three children, including current Stars player, Kyle.  He is currently a Police Lieutenant with the Massachusetts Port Authority. 

 

Mite 3

Nick DeBaggis

ASSISTANT COACH
 

Nick is in his first season coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season assisting with our Mite 3 team.  Coach Nick grew up in Topsfield and played in the Masco Youth Hockey Program before moving on to play for the Masconomet High School Varsity Boys Hockey team.  He went on to play 4-years at Division 3 Plymouth State College as a Defenseman and 2-year Assistant Captain.

Prior to moving with his family to Lynnfield last year, Nick lived in Wakefield, where he coached at the Mite level in their youth hockey system for several years.

Nick currently resides in Lynnfield with his family, including current Stars player, Johnny.

 

Mite 4

John Burns

John is in his first season coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season leading our Mite 4 team. 

John currently resides in Lynnfield including a hat-trick of current Stars players, Michael, Jack and Ryan.

Dan Connelly

ASSISTANT COACH
 

Dan is in his first season coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season assisting with our Mite 4 team. 

Dan currently resides in Lynnfield including current Stars player, Patrick.

SQUIRT 1

Kevin Herbert

HEAD COACH
 

Kevin returns for his fourth year of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season overseeing our top Squirt team.  Coach Kevin played four seasons of hockey at Malden Catholic High School and has continued to play and coach since. 

Last season, he was Head Coach of the North Shore Stars Mite AAA team to a 1st place finish in the Mite North AAA White Division of Valley Hockey League.  The team finished the season with an impressive 18-3-2 record in the highest division within the Mite North league.  Coach Kevin also coached our top Squirt team last season, while also assisting with the North Shore All Star teams in the NEHL.  He has 5 years’ experience coaching at the youth level and is a Level 3 certified coach within USA Hockey. 

Kevin currently resides in Saugus with his wife and two children, both current Stars players, Connor and Nathan. 

 

SQUIRT 1

Jim Diozzi

Jim returns for his third year of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season with our top Squirt team.  Coach Jim played four seasons of hockey at Saugus High School, before playing at Western New England College.  Following his playing days, he assisted coaching the Boys Varsity Hockey team at Melrose High School.

Last season, he was an Assistant Coach with our Mite 2 team, which finished in 2nd place finish of the Mite North AAA Blue Division of Valley Hockey League.  The team started off at the AA level before a 10-0-1 start moved them up to the AAA level.  They also captured the championship in the 2020 Cape Cod Frozen Tundra Tournament, going undefeated while beating out several higher ranked teams in the process.   He also was an Assistant Coach for our top Squirt team. 

Jim currently resides in Saugus with his wife and three children, all current Stars players, Dalton, Gavin and Austen. 

 

SQUIRT 2

Stacey Pagos

HEAD COACH
 

Stacey returns for her third year of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season overseeing our Squirt 2 team.  Coach Stacey played for the Woburn High School Boys Varsity hockey team, along with a select all-girls program while in high school.  She then went on to be a Captain and star Varsity Field Hockey player at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. 

Last season, she was an Associate Head Coach for our Mite 2 team, which finished in 2nd place finish of the Mite North AAA Blue Division of Valley Hockey League.  The team started off at the AA level before a 10-0-1 start moved them up to the AAA level.  They also captured the championship in the 2020 Cape Cod Frozen Tundra Tournament, going undefeated while beating out several higher ranked teams in the process.   

Stacey currently resides in Lynnfield with her husband and three children, all current Stars players, Tatum, Chase and Bryce. 

 

SQUIRT 2

Greg Pavao

ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH & GOALIES COACH
 

Greg returns for his third season of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season with our Squirt 2 team.  Coach Greg is also our Head Goalie Coach.  He was a 4-year hockey player at Arlington High School before playing goalie for 4-years with Assumption College club hockey.    

Last season, he was an Assistant Coach for our Mite 2 team, which finished in 2nd place finish of the Mite North AAA Blue Division of Valley Hockey League.  The team started off at the AA level before a 10-0-1 start moved them up to the AAA level.  They also captured the championship in the 2020 Cape Cod Frozen Tundra Tournament, going undefeated while beating out several higher ranked teams in the process.  Coach Greg also was our lead goalie coach, helping to develop several our young goalies.

Greg currently resides in Lynnfield with his wife and two children, including current Stars player, Grady.  He is President of Mini-Moves & More out of Arlington. 

 

 

 

SQUIRT 3

Erik Adams

HEAD COACH
 

Erik returns for his third season of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season as Head Coach of our Squirt 3 team, and Assistant Coach of our Mite 1 team.  Coach Erik was was a 4-year hockey player at Andover High School.

Last season, he was Associate Head Coach of the North Shore Stars Mite A team and helped lead them to a 3rd place finish in the North AA Red Division of the Valley Hockey League.  The team started the season at the A level before a 10-0-1 start moved them up to the AA level.  Overall, the team started the season 16-2-1. 

Erik currently resides in Lynnfield with his wife and two children, both current Stars players, Olivia and Wes.

 

PEE WEE 1

Tony Mastrocola

Tony returns for his third season of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season as Head Coach of our Pee Wee 1 team.  Coach Tony was a 4-year hockey player at

Last season he led our Squirt 2 team in the Squirt West A division of the Valley Hockey League.  The team finished 7-3 in their last 10 games before the season was cut short due to COVID-19. 

Tony currently resides in Saugus with his wife and son, current Stars player, Joey.

 

PEE WEE 1

Tom Minniear

Tom returns for his second season of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season as Assistant Coach with our Pee Wee 1 team.  Coach Tom grew up in Saugus and attend Saugus High School where he played  

Last season, he was an Assistant Coach with our Squirt 2 team in the Squirt West A division of the Valley Hockey League.  The team finished 7-3 in their last 10 games before the season was cut short due to COVID-19. 

Tom currently resides in Saugus with his wife and son, current Stars player, Chase.  He is President of Minniear Electric in Melrose. 

 

Bantam 1

Darren Damiani

Darren returns for his ___year of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season overseeing our top Bantam team.  Coach Darren played ____  

Last season, he was Assistant Coach of the North Shore Stars Bantam AAA team and helped lead them to a 1st place finish in the Bantam North AAA Division of Valley Hockey League.  The team finished with an outstanding 21-3-2 record, going up against the top Bantam teams in the state.  They also captured the Massachusetts Hockey State Championship for the 2nd year in a row as well as winning the 2019 Goblet Select Tournament in Foxboro.

Darren currently resides in Lynnfield with his wife and three children, including current Stars player, Drew.

 

Bantam 2

Keith Lomas

Keith returns for his ___year of coaching with the North Shore Stars, this season overseeing our top Bantam team.  Coach Keith played ____  

Last season, he was Assistant Coach of the North Shore Stars Bantam AAA team and helped lead them to a 1st place finish in the Bantam North AAA Division of Valley Hockey League.  The team finished with an outstanding 21-3-2 record, going up against the top Bantam teams in the state.  They also captured the Massachusetts Hockey State Championship for the 2nd year in a row as well as winning the 2019 Goblet Select Tournament in Foxboro.
